RIP

I've had drama.

My trusty iPod has died. Shpoddy wouldn't even turn on Monday night. I'd been kind to him. I never abused him, so I was very confused by his death. And frustrated. So frustrated I wanted to run. But I like to listen to music while I run. I like to listen to Shpoddy. That added insult to injury.

Tuesday morning I contacted Apple. First it took me forever to find an actual phone number. Then I had to speak to an automated system, which annoyed me because the reason I'd called was to speak to a real person. Any-hoo, I got through to someone eventually. He was mildly helpful. Shpoddy was still under warranty. He directed me to some online service forms that I needed to fill out. I'd already looked over the forms, but decided not to fill them out because I wanted to talk to a real person. I filled out the stupid forms, feeling a tad bit pissy at Apple.

Wednesday at 11 AM, a padded box arrived to take Shpoddy to the Apple doctors in California. I packed him away for his trip immediately and called the shipping company to let them know he was ready for pick up. They came back and got him at 2 PM.

Thursday night, I checked my e-mail for the first time that day. The doctors have already serviced Shpoddy. I was rather surprised. Not only had Shpoddy arrived in CA (with the weather and traffic control that can some times be tricky) but they'd already examined him. They're sending me a new iPod. I prefer not to think of Shpoddy as dead. More so, he's been reincarnated. I expected that my parents would get the new shpoddy some time next week...then they'd have to send him to Pittsburgh. I'd have to spend many days without him. Given my dependence, I may have gone crazy.

But then, I got an e-mail this morning. Shpoddy: The Reincarnation has already been sent. He will be specially delivered tomorrow. I won't have to spend hours at the Chicago airport without him. I won't have to exercise at Chatham without him. I won't have to walk to work without him. Am so excited. Apple is redeemed.
