Moose and Squirrel

There was a squirrel at my window. Or more so, on the ledge beyond my screen. Impressive. Very impressive since I live on the third floor without any tall trees near by.

It seemed to be stuck and was making a rasping noise (That's how I discovered it--The noise was loud enough that I thought it was coming from inside my apartment).

It didn't immediately flee when I pulled up the blinds. I moaned, convinced the poor creature was stuck. I tried to figure out who I should call. My dad? The government? A vet? I knew I wanted it rescued, either by a firetruck ladder or by a safety cushion inflated three stories below in the driveway to the neighboring apartment building's parking lot.

None of that was necessary, however, as Mr./Ms. Squirrel seemed to tire of me staring at it and jumped...up. I heard a few more calls from the roof, but now there is silence. I wish my new squirrelly friend well and an eventual safe return to the ground.
